We are Gamblers

My close friends would know about this story.

A friend of mine back in SMK Ibrahim, no, actually there are two friends of mine from Ibrahim fell in love with each other after Form 5. I was closer with the guy when I was in secondary school, but now I hang out more with the girl.

They love each other (at least from my point of view)...love, love and love for 5 years. Yes, correct, 5 damn years! Then one day, not long ago, when I was in a looong journey back from SP to KL, we had a girl talk inside the car. We talked about many things, mainly about our relationship with our boyfriends. I said I surrendered to my boyfriend few years ago and ended our conflict to save the relationship, and it works...so far so good lah.

This girl who sat beside me also talked about how similar she was with me in the relationship with the guy. The guy kinda dominates the relationship and she suffered in the dilemma of who should change and who is at fault. I said I don't know...perhaps "surrender" is not a good word to describe what I have done because it brings negative notion. It's all in your mind, if you really love that somebody, you will do anything for him. Even if you are changing for him, you won't feel bad, because it happens naturally.

I don't know whether she heard my words, but I did see her tears.

Few weeks after that, they broke up. Gosh, they spent five good years together to find out that...they don't belong to each other! Isn't that ironic?

How? How exactly to be sure in LOVE? You can't, in fact you can never be sure. Thus, it's gambling. You put your time and feelings and everything at stake...at the end of the day, like the day before you die, then you'll know how many times you won. That's why some people don't dare to play anymore, cause when you lose...you lose all that you have given in.
